In honor of the recent closing of Club Bart, Melissa Smith was my guest DJ. Melissa had booked the music for Club Bart and been the night bartender. It was a night of lots of surprises behind the turntables, starting with some jumping jacks to the MSU Fight Song.
John Nelson, the songwriter behind Detroit indie rock bands such as New Grenada, Cloud Car, Destroy This Place, and Copper Thieves, was my guest DJ and also played a live set with his new band to celebrate the release of his first solo album, which I had helped record.
